How we choose practitioners
We only connect people with providers registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission for specialist behaviour support, whose practitioners the Commission considers suitable, who cover your area and have space for new clients. We check they contact you, and we stop working with providers who don't.
Registered for specialist behaviour support
The provider has to be registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to deliver specialist behaviour support. We check the Commission's public provider register when they join, and again from time to time.
Practitioners the Commission considers suitable
Only NDIS behaviour support practitioners the Commission has considered suitable can develop behaviour support plans that include regulated restrictive practices. The provider confirms their practitioners meet this, including the level they're assessed at under the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
Taking new clients in your area
Providers tell us which areas they cover and whether they have space. We only pass your details on when they do, so you're not handed to someone with a long waitlist.
They contact you quickly
Providers agree to contact you promptly after we pass your details on. We follow up to check they did. If they didn't, we find someone else.
A complaints process that works
Registered providers must have a complaints process. If something goes wrong, you can raise it with the provider, with us, or with the NDIS Commission.
What we don't do
- We don't assess your needs or give clinical advice. That's the practitioner's job.
- We don't send your details to a group of providers at once. It's one at a time.
- We don't charge you anything. Providers pay us for introductions, as explained on how it works.
