Free and independent. About two minutes.
Is Online Right for Us?
For most families, a lot of behaviour support works well by video. A practitioner will talk it through with you.
Works Well Online
- Talking through what's been happening and what you'd like to change
- Writing the behaviour support plan and explaining it to you
- Coaching family, carers and support workers to use the plan
- Check-ins and plan reviews
When a Visit Can Help
- Watching what happens at home, school or work, when that's needed for the assessment
- Some situations involving restrictive practices
Some practitioners combine video sessions with visits. Choose "Either is fine" on the form if that suits you.
Behaviour Support for Every Age
It isn't only for young children. Practitioners work with people of every age, and the people around them.

Children
Early support, often with parents, kinder and school working together.

Teenagers and Adults
Support that respects the person's choices and grows their independence.

At Home or in Supported Living
Plans that work for the person, their family and the people who support them.
Common Questions About Online Behaviour Support
Is online support as good as in person?
For a lot of behaviour support, yes. Much of the work is talking with you, writing the plan and coaching the people around the person, which works well by video. Some practitioners combine video sessions with visits when they need to see things for themselves.
Is it funded by the NDIS?
Behaviour support by video is paid for from the same part of the NDIS plan as in-person support, under the NDIS pricing rules. Using this service is free and never touches your plan.
What do we need?
A phone, tablet or laptop with a camera and a reasonable internet connection. The practitioner will send a link, so there's nothing to install in most cases.
Can family and support workers join?
Yes. That's one of the big advantages: parents, carers, teachers and support workers can join the same session from wherever they are.
What if behaviour support isn't in the plan yet?
Fill in the form anyway and tell us where things are at. Some practitioners can help you get evidence for a plan review, and some see clients privately.
Who will contact me?
A practitioner from a registered NDIS behaviour support provider who works online and has space for new clients.
Are you part of the NDIS?
No. positivebehavioursupport.au is an independent service. We're not part of the NDIA or the NDIS Commission, and we don't deliver behaviour support ourselves.
